Let me introduce to you, Toshokan Sensou (Library War). About this anime: I wasn't so happy when I read some reviews of this anime, since there are people who DOESN'T like this anime A LOT. Eventhough some people hate this anime, I still like it (really really like it @__@). Well actually, I find the title wierd at first. I asked myself, "Could there be a war in a library? o__O". Out of curiosity, I checked the anime and watched its first episode.
The Start: It's about a new era, the Seiku Era, in which people are already limited in reading literatures since the government didn't allowed some books to get published and be read by people because there was a fear of spreading bad influence to the society. All books kept in the library are not allowed to be confiscated. Kasahara Iku (the lead character) joined the Task Force of the Library. Their main goal is to protect the books as much as they can. When watching the anime at first, I thought it was too wierd for people to have war just because of some silly books, but then after thinking for awhile, it might have a good sense after all. Books and other reading materials are one way of exchanging ideas. It means that when people are disallowed to write, there is no freedom of expression. I just remembered Marshal Law and the Japanese invasion in the Philippines, that there was no freedom to express.
